One day, a man was walking along the beach
when he noticed a boy picking something up
gently throwing it into the ocean.
Approaching the boy, he asked, "What are you doing?"

The youth replied, "Throwing starfish back into the ocean.
The tide is going out if I don't throw them back, they'll die!"
"Son," the man said, "Don't you realize there are miles & miles
of beach...and 1000s of starfish?
How can you possibly make a difference?"

So the boy said, "I got to throw the starfish back into the ocean...
if not, they'll die!"

After listening politely, the boy bent down,
picked up another starfish & threw it back into the sea.
Then smiling at the man, he said: "I made a difference for that one."

Ok you won't find 1,000s of starfish along east coast or changi or sembawang beach...
Alternatively, we have 100s of friends in our lives
for us to invest that little effort like what the boy did for a starfish.
